The 2016 Route 99 MTB Experience

Route 99? What’s this I hear you ask?

Yes, the third 3-Day stage race presented by The Leverage Corporation is taking place on 30 September, 1st and 2nd October 2016.

It’s the sister event to The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience which takes place annually in February, but this race has a number of different offerings:

• Each of the three stages will start and finish at the same place, namely The Thatch Café, located at the Rhino & Lion Park in the Cradle of Humankind
• You can choose to ride all three stages from Friday to Sunday, or else a combination, such as Stages 1 & 2, Stages 1 & 3 or Stages 2 & 3.
• This is a no-frills race, but there will be great post-race food, craft beer and more
• We will be offering three stunning stages
- Stage 1 - 70km
- Stage 2 - 60km
- Stage 3 - 45km
• Afterwards, there’s lots of opportunity to relax in the sun at The Thatch Café, where our race is hosted, enjoy some refreshments and prize giving fun.  With many options for accommodation in the area, this is the perfect opportunity to get away with the family for a long weekend.

So if you have committed to any big events in the latter part of 2016, or want to kick-start with a proper Stage Race in preparation for 2017, this is the race for you.

In true Leverage Corporation fashion, this will be a ride where you will be challenged; it will be a ride which you will enjoy; and it will be a fantastic event which is well organized and run.

Here’s what the route entails:

Day 1: A 70km "not for the feint-of-heart warm up"
Day 2: A tough, challenging and rewarding 60km
Day 3: A final 45km “leg-loosener”

175 km later – tired and sore legs, but a job well done.
